For the new wave of non-performing loans, more specialization is needed
On Aziendabanca, an article by Mirko Tramontano on the prospects for impaired loans and the growing need for specialised professionals. The market surrounding the recovery of non-performing loans is increasingly moving towards specialisation among operators. This appears to be a strategic choice given the significant volume of impaired loans and, above all, their different types. These loans are very different, and in order to “ground” them, portfolios will need to be segmented according to their specific characteristics, accompanied by increasingly specialised professionals. This is also because it is estimated that the succession of crises that have marked recent years, starting in 2008, will lead to further growth in NPLs/UTPs.
